Welcome To M.J.M. Dance, Inc.'s Web site

We at M.J.M. Dance INC wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for the last fourteen years of dance. If you have been by the studio lately you would have noticed we are doing some renovations. We are extremely excited to announce we have partnered with our very good friends at Dance Threatre so that we are able to continue to bring you the best dance experience we can offer. Don't worry the staff at M.J.M. Dance INC is not going anywhere we are just adding some new members to the team and reorganizing under Dance Theatre's name. Ms. Kay will still be around from time to time and you can always catch her on her website Krafty Kay's Costumes or her Etsy account. She's excited to announced she's expanding from creating just dance costumes/wear to include fashion accessories starting with her fashion scarf necklaces.

Below is an e-mail from Dance Theatre that was e-mailed out to those of you on our mailing list. If you have any questions about the changes going on at M.J.M. Dance INC please do not hesitate to contact us or Dance Theatre. We are combining our expertise in order to serve you better so your feedback is welcomed and encouraged.

Once again from those of us at M.J.M. Dance INC. Thank you.

Dear Families,

As you may have noticed, changes are underway. We wanted to take a few minutes to detail some additional changes so everyone knows what to expect as we continue through the dance season. As you may know, Miss Kay has recently relocated to North Carolina. In an effort to ensure that her beloved students would continue to receive the best possible care, Miss Kay sought the assistance of our school, Dance Theatre, and we were thrilled to have this opportunity to become involved. Since you are already familiar with the rich tradition of MJM, all of us at Dance Theatre wanted to take a moment to tell you all about our's.

Dance Theatre is currently in it's 22nd season. We have 5 other locations across South Florida and Georgia, we employ a staff of over 50 of the most amazing instructors in the business, and we all work together to achieve one main goal... to teach children to love to dance. Over the past several years, we have garnered such notable awards as "The Best of the West" and "Readers Choice" multiple times by the communities that we serve based on our outstanding customer service and attention to detail. In short, we strive to train exceptional dancers and help to raise exceptional young women (and a few men).

Our Founder and Director, Michelle McGrath Gerlick, spent nearly every day of her youth practicing and perfecting her craft at The Academy of Ballet Arts and then earned a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Nova Southeastern. Her professional credits include performing as a Miami Heat dancer for the NBA, a "Fly Girl" on Fox Television's "In Living Color" and a Super Bowl Staff Member producing and choreographing pre-game and halftime shows for the NFL. Over the past 20 years Michelle has grown Dance Theatre into the largest children's dance program in the Southeast and led her students to extraordinary venues such as the Atlanta Summer Olympic Games in 1996, The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, and numerous Orange Bowls and Super Bowls.

So... starting November 1st MJM will officially become Dance Theatre at Sunset Lakes.

Here's what is NOT going to change:

  1. Your tuition will remain exactly the same.
  2. Your teachers Miss Jenn and Miss Tracey will remain teaching all of their current classes.
  3. The Dance Company will be run entirely by Miss Jenn.
  4. The Dance Company will compete under the MJM name and wear your MJM jackets.

Here's what IS going to change:

  1. Tuition payments will be made to Dance Theatre.
  2. The new go-to girl at the front desk will be Miss Shannon Piccininni. Shannon is a lifetime member of the Dance Theatre family and has been teaching for the past 20 years. Melissa will still be around as well.
  3. New classes will be added with new choices and additional teachers.
  4. The costume process will be different. We will not be grouping all of the items together (costume, t-shirt, dvd) as in the past. Instead, the costumes will $80 - $90 (depending on your child's age) and you can decide later if you wish to purchase optional items such as DVD's, T-shirts, pictures, etc. We prefer an a la carte system so that everyone can purchase exactly what they want... and nothing that they don't. It should work out to be slightly less expensive than before.
  5. Please pardon our dust as we continue to renovate the studios. We strive to make every Dance Theatre a clean, beautiful, fun place to be.

So... please stop in and meet Miss Shannon. Ask questions, call us, email us, check out our website, and give us a chance to show you why tens of thousands of dancers have chosen Dance Theatre as their home away from home.

One last thing, between November 1st - November 7th we will be hosting "Bring a Friend Week". Your child can bring a friend to class or the friend can choose any class on the new schedule (it doesn't have to be your child's same class). If the friend that you refer registers for classes, they will receive FREE registration ($45) and you will receive $45 off of your next tuition payment.

We can't wait to meet all of you and your lovely dancers!

Michelle & Randy Gerlick and Shannon Piccininni
